Digitization Tool

The main pillar of the project is the research, recording, documentation and digital imaging of selected impressive fortifications of Aitoloakarnania using innovative applications and digitization methods.

The aim of the project is to create a timeless narrative of the great fortification architecture of Aitoloakarnania through a digital interactive journey of promotion and presentation of the rich cultural heritage of the region, using new technologies and the development of innovative methods and tools for research, analysis, documentation, enhancement and promotion.

The aim of the project is:

• the promotion of monuments of archaeological and cultural interest in the area,
• the enhancement of the visibility of archaeological sites, monuments and the region in general,
• the enhancement of the natural wealth, due to the particular geomorphological features and topography of the sites of the monuments,
• the strengthening of the local economy through the development of tourism, and
• strengthening interdisciplinary research and creating educational applications.
